"Jailyn's Jade Lagoon" is named in honor of one of our fall honorees, Jailyn. It is a beautiful blue and a must have kolor. Jailyn shares her cancer journey below, in her own words.
I went in on May
15th to get an MRI of my brain. I got the first set of MRIs and they
saw a tumor in the middle of my brain. They also saw that it was
blocking the fluid flow throughout my brain causing Hydrocephalys.
They kept me overnight soo they could keep an eye on me, I ended up
having a surgery 2 days later to create a temporary new path for the
fluid to flow for my brain. They also took biopsies to test the cells
for cancer. I stayed in the hospital for a few more days then went
home to heal. About 3 or 4 days later the surgeon called my mom and
told her that the tumor was cancerous and very aggressive and that we
would need to do surgery asap to get the tumor out. On May 30th I
went in for surgery to take the Tumor out. Surgery was anticipated to
be 4 to 8 hours, and ended up being a 16 hour surgery. But she got 95
% of the tumor out which was attached in every possible place it
could be. I was in ICU for 1 night then was in the hospital for about
a week then went home to heal. About a month later I started
Radiation that went for 6 weeks(30 treatments).I also got chemo once
a week during the radiation. I'm now undergoing chemo treatments once
a month for 6 months. I'm just over here kickin' cancers butt.
