“#BrieStrong” is a pretty “Princess Elsa” blue honoring Brielle Bird. Brielle’s story is below.

We are the Bird family. Mitch and I have been married for 6.5 years! Brielle is our oldest. She is 5 years old and is a total girly girl. She loves everything Frozen/Elsa, pink, mermaids and unicorns!

We used to live a very typical life. One of routine and comfort. But in June of 2020 our entire world stopped in a tiny hospital room. We truly couldn’t believe that this was real life. 

Brielle was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a fast spreading cancer that starts in the nerve tissue. For Brielle, it developed in her abdomen; we also found 1 large tumor and 2 small masses in her abdomen, and cancer taking over her bone marrow.

Our new normal consists of chemo treatments, bone marrow transplants, walking the hospital halls, and being supported by thousands of prayers, so much love, and an immense amount of hope. We honestly feel like we have an entire empire of soldiers fighting with us.

She is recovering from her second bone marrow transplant. This will be followed by radiation and multiple rounds of immunotherapy. 

We will be in treatment until 2022. We take it one day at a time and are constantly learning that God is good.
